Description

I have had this done for a long ass time and I wanted to make a full sheet for him but with the way things have been going... not gonna happen anytime soon, so this will have to work. This is Emery.

Emery

:bulletblue: made to work in the Master's manor. To look pretty while doing it.
:bulletblue: shy at first, but gentle and kind.
                :bulletblue: sexless, prefers male pronouns

    ~PAST~
Emery was a owned by a man who didn't care much for the Grem2s as anything more than property. They were to be seen and not heard, and never, were to make eye contact with anyone around them, only ever to look at the floor. Emery was one who always had a rough time with this, never forgetting not to look, or saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, for this he suffered greatly. Emery would be beaten with a thick cane on the bottoms of his feet for each mistake until bruises covered the bottom of his feet. This was unable to be seen by anyone who didn't look closely and as such was difficult to notice. The man would always say, "Emery, do not show your pain, you are not broken just yet. And should you break, it will be time for a new possession to take your place." Emery didn't have guess at what his master meant, if he showed his pain his Master would have him killed and replace him with no problem.

One night, after a merciless beating as he was limping back to his cell (that was all it could be called as it was dank and damp, with little more than straw covering the floor for some padding) his master wandered past, looking for something. Seeing Emery he abruptly, and harshly called for him to come there. Emery complied, doing his best not to show his pain he stood straight and looked to the ground, listening to his orders, before rushing off to do as he was told. As soon as he turned the corner he began limping again. This was normal though, and he knew he would be alright enough to work in the morning, but as morning came, his feet only got worse. The left one had begun to swell, and he could barely put any weight on it without crying out in pain. Emery began to panic, and looked around for anything that would make it better but found nothing. Morning came, and hoping against hope that his master would find a kind bone in his body, he went to work biting his tongue to stop from crying, for the most part he could walk but he couldn't hide the limp.

It wasn't long before his master caught on, and stopped him. Emery kept his gaze fixed on the ground and listened as his master made plans for his demise. Come that night he would be put down like a rabid dog. Nothing more. He was sent back to his "cell" to await, after all his master was a proper man, and it would look bad to have his Grem2 abused, or abandoned. But an accident? It would cause a commotion, yes, but the Master would not be to blame. His death was to be staged that night. Emery panicked, waiting for his doom until a thought crossed his mind. He could run. Maybe he would get away. And if he could, he could live. Emery grabbed at the meager rags that he used to cover himself at night and tore it into strips, binding his injured foot.

His mind set on what he needed to do to survive, he left. Quietly he snuck through the yard and soon he was leaving the only town he knew far behind him. He limped until he happened upon an unkempt and broken green house, surrounded by what one would've called a garden a few years ago. It looked as if no one had touched the place in years. And it was absolutely stunning. The plants thrived, free of the flower beds that once contained them. He was amazed at the beauty and as he limped through the greenhouse, he came upon a pile of old burlap sacks. Exauhsted he did what anyone would do. He laid down to sleep. He slept hard, and didn't wake until late the next night.

Now that he had a bit of time, he could tend to his broken/injured foot. He unwrapped it and rewrapped it with strips from one of the sacks. Then looking around he found the broken stick of what he thought used to be a shovel. It would make the perfect staff to hold his weight until his foot healed for now. Using the make-do staff he went outside to get another look at his surroundings, knowing the garden had to belong to someone. He walked through the ruined stone path, until he reached the end, and hiding in the underbrush he looked on to see a Manor up a hill quite a ways away, it was the only building in sight, and quite elaborate. The lights inside were blazing brightly as the inhabitants bustled back and forth doing whatever they felt the need to do.

He looked at the unkempt, ruined garden then back at the manor house. No one went here often, and if someone did wander too close, he could always hide. He didn't want to leave the garden. He felt a connection too it, he wanted to care for it as badly as he wanted someone to care for him, and actually care about him. It was that realization that made him decide to stay, and as he walked back to the ruined green house he felt safe, and at home and... happy.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. The tenants of the Manor never came close and Emery tended to the garden. His foot had healed nicely, suprisingly enough. He was able to walk easily, though on occassion if he stepped wrong it would pang with a sharp slice of pain, but there was nothing else to hinder him. The garden, though beautiful before was now stunning and thriving more than it once did. Unknown to Emery, not all of the inhabitants of the manor were oblivous to his actions. One child, a girl named Lillian, had noticed that the garden was being tended to. She snuck into the garden one day, whilst Emery was preoccupied with his gardening. Humming to himself as he gently covered a seed. She smiled and sat just to listen and watch when he suddenly turned and spotted her. With a yelp he turned to run but the girl called out to him. Something in him made him stop, and look back at her from the bushes. She smiled at him and inched closer holding out her hand, she couldn't have been more than 7 or 8 years old. "I'm Lillian," she said to him, "I won't hurt you, I promise."

To this day, he doesn't know what it was that made him believe her. But he did, she kept coming to him after that day. They would sit and talk while he tended to the garden and he would help her with her homework when she needed it. Eventually, the two became nearly inseperable, and she convinced her family to take him in. They repaired the green house, making a new addition to it, a living space for Emery, and tasked him with the job of caring for the garden.

~NOW~

Emery still cares for the garden, but he has also taken it upon himself to not only be Lillian's best friend, but also her protector. He and she make common trips to the local library, where he met Velveteen and the two became good friends. He lives happily in his garden with his new family. And is well cared for.

MrGremble was kind enough to allow me to pay for a slot to make my own Grem2 (thank you again so much <3) Emery has been approved and is now an official Grem2 Grem2 official proof
